Coach Courter (Dunnellon, Fl) is currently the head coach of the Trinity Catholic Boys Varsity Lacrosse team (Ocala, Fl). Originally from New Jersey, he began playing lacrosse in the Mt. Lakes Youth Lacrosse Program where the tradition and culture of the sport was instilled. In high school, he was an All-State Defensemen at Don Bosco Prep HS (Ramsey, NJ) and went on to play his collegiate lacrosse at Providence College (Providence, RI). While earning his BS in Business Management, he started and played in every game of his four year career. While at PC he led the program to 3 NCAA Tournament births and 3 MAAC Championships. His playing career earned him 3x Captain for the Friars, 3x All Conference Selection, 2x All MAAC Tournament Team selection, MAAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, and MAAC Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

His coaching career began at the NCAA D1 Level as the Defensive Coordinator at Providence College in their inaugural year of the Big East Conference. It was here under the mentorship of lacrosse legend Chris Burdick that Courter learned the intricacies of the game while preparing to compete against national ranked NCAA programs (University of Notre Dame, Syracuse University, Georgetown University, Brown University, Rutgers University, St. John’s University, Jacksonville University).

Coach Courter also served as the Head Coach at the University of Idaho (Moscow, ID) where he was afforded the opportunity to compete against national recognized colleges and universities located in the pacific north west (University of Oregon, Oregon State, Washington College, The University of Washington, University of Montana, Utah State University, Brigham Young University (BYU), University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) Gonzaga University).

His most recent college coaching tenure was as Asst Coach at Webber International University (Babson Park, Fl) in 2022 which provided him the opportunity to see the tremendous talent and growth of the sport in the NAIA Division.

He is also currently coaching for the FLC State program. He has also coached in various youth club programs throughout the state of Florida.

Coach Courter resides in Dunnellon, Fl with his wife (Anna) and two children (James and Mae).
